Curtains are always one of the most excellent ways of pulling together a room, giving it a finishing touch by setting all accessories and items in perfect concord with each other. And if you have almost decorated your home for the New Year and are looking for the trendiest curtains to give your preparations a final touch, IKEA curtains will be the best option.

Lots of hardware items including rods (metal or wooden) are required to hold up the curtains above the windows and add to the costs. This is the reason it is quite tough to find curtains within your set budget. Where most curtain varieties are extremely expensive, IKEA can be your ultimate solution in terms of both quality and budget.

Here’s how you can pinch pleat these curtains by yourself:

The IKEA Hardware that You Need

You need the following IKEA hardware to make triple-pinch pleat curtains:

  • Curtain hooks
  • Curtain rings along with hook and clips
  • Gathering tape

First of all, you will need to get gathering tape and sew it on the curtains if it is not already attached to your curtains. Once you have all the required items:

  1. The first step would be to place the curtain hook in upside-down manner. Slightly open up the hook after making sure the hook portion is at the bottom and not at the top
  2. Insert the leftmost spike into the very first opening that you can see in the gathering tape
  3. The next step will involve inserting the spike into the eighth slot at the right
  4. Do repeat the same procedure for the next two spikes, and you’ll finish inserting the 1st hook with this
  5. Now, remember that the next hook will be inserted at the other end of the curtain. You have to insert the rightmost point into the very first opening that you can see on the right
  6. Now you’ll repeat the previous two steps, but keeping in the mind that you have to go to the left, and not to the right

Folding the Curtain

  1. When you have properly inserted the hooks at both ends of the curtain, it is the time to fold the curtain into two halves so that you can easily find the mid-point
  2. You will have to keep your hand squeezing the midpoint of the curtain as you count four toward the right and left from the center
  3. The center point that you have found after counting 4 to the both sides will be the opening for the 2 middle prongs
  4. You can now put in the left prong eight spaces to the left side and the right one eighth spaces to the right side

Folding the Edge

  • Fold the curtain from the edge to the midpoint and ultimately, to the next edge. Your purpose is to find a secondary mid-point, that is, the mid-point between the edges
  • Once you’ve found all the midpoints, you can connect the curtain rings
