Spring Cleaning – a time to throw open the windows and peep holes, let some fresh air in, and make our homes clean. Although, all these results seem to be very alluring, but the truth is… it eats up a lot of your time to get your home spring cleaned. It’s not a game of a day or two.

Spring-Clean-Why Spring Cleaning is Time consuming?

There are obvious reasons proving that it takes a lot of time to spring clean your home.

  • Spring House Cleaning means a thorough cleaning of your home including each and every corner of the house. Definitely, cleaning every nook and cranny in the living space is not a task to be completed in a day or two.

  • In DIY, the owner performs the entire task, which means that there is no involvement of a professional. Some of the tasks need special skills and cautiousness which is not possible for a home owner. Indulging in such jobs definitely takes a lot of time. Also, it’s likely that you get success everytime.

So, why not look for ways to keep your living space clean and tidy to avoid this time-consuming annual chore altogether?

A simple solution to this is spreading out spring cleaning burdens over the course of year to make your house look flawless in any season with apparently very less effort. Just follow these easy tips…

1.   Clean a little everyday

Tackling all of the household cleaning simultaneously is daunting! Make it sure to do a small cleaning chore every day. You’ll find it easier.

  • Dust the furniture while watching TV.
  • Clean and dab the bathroom mirror while bathing or brushing your teeth.
  • When cooking, clean the kitchen while waiting.

2.   Stick to a schedule

We schedule our work at office to simplify and reduce the workload. Same applies to cleaning our home. Focus entirely on one section of your house every month, in addition to your normal cleaning routine.

For example, schedule January for living room cleanup, February for Bathroom deep cleaning, in June, give your kitchen a good scrubbing, and so on.

3.   Make it FUN

Make your cleaning task fun with right attitude.

  • Entertain yourself with some podcast while cleaning like listening to your favorite songs. This will build up your interest in your work and you’ll look forward to the routine cleanups just so you can listen to some more songs next time!

  • Reward yourself on cleaning for an hour, such as dinner at your favorite take-out place.

  • Make neatening the house a social effort. Strike a treaty with a “cleaning buddy” to help you. When you have someone to clean with, it’ll aid you in getting your work done early and will make boring task much more enjoyable.

With all these routine cleaning tasks, you need not to do Spring Cleaning any more. But you can do ‘Sprinkle Cleaning’ to clean the chores altogether – Cleaning the entire living space in a limited way once in a year.
