How to Install Plumbing Bathroom Sink

The hard part in the process is to install vent, drain and water pipes. That’s where all the expertise or caution is required. Thereafter, you just need to hook individual units of faucets and sink at points where pipes were left stubbed out.

1. Get a supply line from pipes meant for supplying water to bathtub or shower. Since a sink won’t require a lot of water, a 0.5 inch diameter pipe is just fine. If it was an expert plumber in Staten Island who configured the plumbing and water supply system of your bathroom, you shouldn’t have any problem branching out the 0.5 inch wide water supply for a new sink.
2. Make sure the sink unit has a vent so as to ensure smooth draining. The vent can either integrated with a bigger bathroom vent or you can create a new one. A 1.5-2.5 inch vent is more than enough.
3. The sink drain and the drain pipe should be in perfect alignment. The drain pipe can be installed between the two pipes that supply water.
4. One of the important plumbing tips that you should keep in mind is to ensure a minimum slope of 0.25/foot. This is the minimum slope for pipes running towards the

sewer as well as towards the point where pipes tie-in with tees.

1. All stub-outs (after rough-in) should have shutoff valves on top of them before you go on to hook the sink and other pipes. Without halves, the plumbing will give up within no time.
2. After hooking up the sink and pipes, you can use a wrench to tighten the shut off value (alight it with the pipe by cutting it) or solder it with the pipes. If you do not have the tools, you might as well call a 24 hour.
3. In case you’re using plastic pipes (CPVC), you need not use the wrench. You can just use an adhesive in that case.
4. Before you install the sink, make it a point to latch the drain and faucet. Otherwise, you’d have to do rest of the work in a bent-down position! Also, make sure you cross-check for size match before buying hoses that connect faucets and other units with the shutoff valves.
